Art • Building Peace • Conflict Transformation — A culturally informed practice

Nikhat Qureshi is a law graduate, certified mediator, and experienced facilitator whose work brings together conflict resolution, emotional learning, and the transformative power of art. As the founder of The Artful Peace Practice, she creates spaces where individuals and communities can explore conflict, communication, and healing through creative expression. With a background in mediation and social-emotional learning, Nikhat has worked with youth, families, and diverse communities, supporting intergenerational communication, conflict navigation, and personal growth. Her approach is rooted in empathy, accessibility, and practical tools that people can apply in their everyday lives. Alongside her work in dispute resolution, Nikhat is an award-winning visual artist and calligrapher, and the founder of BC Muslim Art House and the Islamic Art of British Columbia. Her artistic practice informs her facilitation, allowing participants to engage with complex emotions and conversations in a way that feels safe, reflective, and deeply human. Through workshops, classes, and community programs, she brings together art and dialogue to foster understanding, connection, and meaningful change.
